Liuzzi Cheese is rooted in five generations of cheesemaking excellence, tracing back to 1826 in the town of Noci, nestled in Puglia, Italy. Founded in the United States in 1981 by brothers Pasquale "Lino" and Nicola Liuzzi, our story began with a dream to share the rich traditions of their heritage with a new audience
Lino's journey to America over forty-five years ago marked the start of something extraordinary. From humble beginnings in North Haven, Connecticut, the Liuzzi family built what started as a small storefront — now known as Liuzzi Gourmet Food Market — into a thriving, family-run business known for its premium-quality cheeses and Italian specialty foods.
Today, our products are still crafted with the same passion and care — using only fresh, locally sourced ingredients and upholding the highest standards of quality. As the fifth generation joins the business, the family remains committed to the values instilled by its founders: authenticity, integrity, and a deep respect for tradition.
